Must Have Makeup: My Daily Face
I frequently get asked about what makeup products I use, specifically those I use on a daily basis. Although I change it up between drug store and high ends brands today I will share with you my top 6 high end products that live on my face!
All items are linked and ready to be shopped for below!
1. MUFE Water Blend, Face & Body foundation
This was recommended to me a couple of years ago when I went into Sephora and asked for a light coverage foundation that will work for combination skin. This foundation is buildable and kind of tricky to work with at first but once you get a hang of it, its amazing and it leaves your skin looking fresh young and like you're not wearing any foundation. My favorite way to apply is with THIS Sigma Kabuki brush.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
This. IS. MY. HOLY. GRAIL. I live for good eyebrows, if you know me...you know this. I first started filling in my eyebrows my senior year of college (2011). I went into Sephora for the first time ever and one of the girls there asked me if she can try an eyebrow product on me and I said SURE! She sold me on the ABH brow powder and brow brush which I loved for many years. I wanted something easier, quicker and something that would give more of a natural finish. This pencil is everything, it has the perfect consistency; it't not too soft or hard, you can make perfect lines with it.
3. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
This concealer is a MUST for under eyes. It sits so well on any skin. It is medium to full coverage and is build able. Best when applied with a damp beauty blender or your ring finger in dabbing motion. I prefer to get a shade lighter than my foundation color to bring brightness and youth to my under eyes. The Sephora description states that this concealer is crease proof and long wearing. I would say it is long wearing but I truly believe no concealer is crease proof...especially when you're almost 30 which is why you NEED the next item.
4. Laura Mercier Transluscent Loose Setting Powder
"A silky, lightweight setting powder with sheer coverage for a natural-looking matte finish." That's a direct description from Sephora. This powder is a must for setting under eye concealer. My favorite way to use it is with a damp Beauty Blender. Dip the Beauty Blender into the powder with a heavy hand and then dab it over your concealer with a light hand. It will feel like you are putting a lot of powder on there at first. Let the powder sit for 2-15 minutes and gently brush it off with a small synthetic makeup brush -- my favorite is THIS ONE .
5. Hoola Bronzer
This was the first, ever, product I used for contour and it has stuck with me since. I always seem to go back to it. It is the perfect color; it does not have orange under tones, it is matte and the consistency blends nicely. The best part is, it comes with a brush that fits perfectly in the hollows of your cheeks!
6. Mac Cosmetics Powder Blush
I am a sucker for a good blush! Although I frequently use drug store blush, Mac powder blushes are what I grab for when I want a full and long lasting color pay off. They have a large variety of colors and last forever! I tend to lean toward the mauve, burnt orange, darker blush colors because of my olive skin complexion.
I am so excited to start sharing my makeup secrets (or not so much secrets) with you! I am always trying new products and I am always willing to help a sister (or brother out) with any makeup questions. Stay tuned for many more Must Have Makeup posts!
